Koch company Georgia-Pacific is working to meet considerable consumer demand in response to the coronavirus outbreak as people across the United States are stocking up on the essentials. One of the basics: toilet paper, as Forbes reports a day after the World Health Organization declared the situation a pandemic.
Even before the declaration, Georgia-Pacific has seen “a significant increase in orders beginning last week,” said Fernando Gonzalez, president of the company’s consumer business, which includes Angel Soft® and Quilted Northern®. Some order increases, he said, have been as much as two times as normal.
Forbes reports that Georgia-Pacific is working through its existing inventory and increasing production to meet consumer demand, focusing on getting its products to American families as quickly as possible.
