For a third consecutive year, The Salvation Army will have a committee solely dedicated to its Christmas activities. This year, the committee will be led by Chase Koch of Koch Industries, Inc.
“With the funds and goods donated to last year’s Mission of Hope campaign, The Salvation Army helped thousands of Kansans, including underprivileged children, adults with disabilities, and elderly individuals,” said Koch, who is senior vice president of Koch Agronomic Services, LLC. “This year’s Mission of Hope Christmas committee looks forward to continuing to help grow The Salvation Army’s ability to serve community members in need.”
“We are grateful to Chase for his skilled leadership of this year’s Christmas committee, which is a great group of dedicated people,” said Glen Caddy, Major and Wichita City Commander with The Salvation Army. “This committee does so much to help with our fundraising activities and encourage support for The Salvation Army in Wichita.”
Mission of Hope 2013 will be launched at the Christmas kick-off event in Old Town Square (2nd and Mead St.) on Friday, Nov. 15, from 6:15 to 7:30 p.m. This family-oriented event, which will include Christmas carols from The Salvation Army’s local brass ensemble, is designed to share the excitement of the season, find new volunteers, and launch their holiday fundraising efforts.
Koch added, “We are still looking for individuals who want to be a part of our Christmas committee this year, and we are already taking names for 2014.” People interested in volunteering for the Christmas committee can call The Salvation Army at 316.263.2769 for details.
Christmas committee opportunities include the prayer committee, public relations committee, volunteer committee, bell ringing committee, and major gifts committee.
