Philip Ellender, president of government and public affairs for Koch Companies Public Sector, LLC, issued the following statement today reacting to the Senate Finance Committee’s framework to reform the nation’s tax code:

“The Senate’s tax reform framework is a positive, significant step for moving America toward a simpler tax code. It includes income tax bracket reductions and lower rates for businesses big and small that will help spur economic growth. Gone are several tax preferences from the existing code, which have consistently allowed the government to pick winners and losers. Senators should be applauded for omitting a 20 percent excise tax from their proposal, as well. In the days ahead, we look forward to continuing our work with the administration and lawmakers in both chambers to advance a comprehensive reform package that unrigs the system and achieves lasting, pro-growth tax reform for all Americans.”
