Koch Industries announces $1 million donation to Hurricane Harvey relief efforts

August 30, 2017

UPDATE: As the effects of Hurricane Harvey continue to unfold, Koch has committed to match an additional $500,000 to its relief fund for impacted employees. Koch’s total commitment to the Gulf Cost is more than $1.5 million.

Our thoughts go out to all affected by Hurricane Harvey and its devastating aftermath. Efforts are ongoing to confirm the safety and security of all employees and their families, many of whom have experienced extensive damage to personal property, including the complete loss of their homes.

To help vital recovery efforts, Koch Industries is committing more than $1 million to organizations providing immediate disaster relief with the American Red Cross and Salvation Army, along with the long-term support needed to rebuild communities through the Center for Disaster Philanthropy. As part of Koch’s overall efforts, we have contributed $250,000 to establish the Koch Employee Assistance Fund with the Emergency Assistance Foundation to aid our employees who have suffered losses.

In addition to monetary donations, Georgia-Pacific has partnered with Convoy of Hope, providing approximately $100,000 in products including paper towels and bath tissue.

As Koch continues to monitor the situation, the safety of our employees and their families throughout the Gulf of Mexico is our primary concern.
